note : Mike Hailwood salva Clay Regazzoni, intrappolato nella sua BRM in fiamme, Stewart vince con una grande rimonta, anche se rimane la macchia di un sorpasso multiplo con bandiera gialla esposta, proprio in occasione dell’incidente di Clay. Debutta la SHADOW che correrà fino al 1980, con l’ultima apparizione proprio in Sud Africa, sempre in Sud Africa il team di Nichols perderà due dei suoi migliori piloti : Revson nel 1974 e Pryce nel 1977.
