note :stranamente Clark non parte in prima fila, ma scatta benissimo e vince ugualmente, il suo distacco dal secondo in classifica mondiale é abissale (27 punti), si laurea, quindi, Campione per la prima volta. Bandini torna in Ferrari, con la BRM della Centrosud corre Trintignant, un vero pilota giramondo. Ritornano le ATS ma i risultati sono scarsi, in prova anche una De Tomaso-Ferrari ed una vecchia Cooper-Maserati per Tino Brambilla.
